About Scott

I first began the process of Rolfing in support of my personal training in Taiji and Qigong. Being an avid student of Taiji since 1992 and an instructor since 2011, I became increasingly aware of structural and functional imbalances in my own body. I tried multiple modalities from massage to acupuncture to help me with the changes I sought.

In 2012, I was  introduced to Rolfing through the work of Mark Donahue and I was hooked. I had found a system of bodywork that helped me navigate not only the physical changes of life but also the emotional and mental challenges. 

I completed my Basic Rolfing Training in 2018 and started Heart Balance Rolfing in order to practice and share the benefits of the art and science of Rolfing Structural Integration.

In addition to Rolfing, I have a BFA in Photography from Ohio University and an MS in Arts Management from the University of Oregon. I have been a Senior Instructor at the University of Oregon since 2002 and specialize in professional development for artists, arts entrepreneurship, and arts business development. I hold multiple instructor certifications in Taiji and Qigong. I am also certified as a Wilderness First Responder and am current in CPR.
